Day 1 - Explorer Scouts and Leaders from accros the UK desend upon Fairmead campsite for the start of Project 817. The Leaders are given a tour of the four sites on which we will be working on over the next week. Explorers settle in, renew some old friendships, and start forming some new ones!

Day 2 - The work starts a proper, with Teams working on Fairmead Road, Cuckoo Pits, Warren Hill and North Farm. After a hard days work we retire to Gilwell Park for a dip in the outdoor 'heated' swimming pool or a shower. The evening's entertainment took on a very Egyptian feel.

Day 3 - Work continues on the sites, with teams rotating around and taking on a new project from the day before. The evening's entertainment was an orienteering event around Epping Forest - some people though were just out for a ride.

Day 4 - Our day of rest! On the evening of Wednesday 23rd August 2006, there were reports on London's local news stations that marauding packs of feral beasts all dressed in blue had been seen terrorising tourists in the city. Residents were warned to approach with caution!

Day 5 - Works continues back on the sites after the day off - although the day started off wet, it turned out nice again! During the evening participants were left to entertain themselves whilst the leaders held their Annual General Meeting.

Day 6 - Our final day on the sites, with no let up on the hard work - apart from to present ourselves in the best possible light (which is complete darkness for some) to our distinguished guests and sponsors. The day was rounded off with a roaring campfire and much merry making - it would be our final night on camp.

Day 7 - The day after the night before, and time to say our goodbyes as we left Project for another year. Awards were presented, phone numbers and email addresses swapped, tents unpegged and car boots packed. Until August 2007 and Project 818, au revoire.
